Each timer is in "stopped" mode by default. To start it, click the right button on the timer interface. You can pause and restart it as often as you like. You can even exit the program; the timer settings are saved and a started timer can resume on a later computer session.
A count-down timer has to be set to a specified timespan to count-down from (the default is 1 minute), an alarm-clock timer has to be set to an alarm time. To make these settings, either
When a timer has run out, it displays a little blinking yellow dot in its upper right area and shows the word "FINISHED" in the sub-display. You can also choose a popup-window to show up when a timer has run out; this is normally disabled in normal state and only shows up when the window is hidden in the taskbar.
As soon as a timer has run out, a red bar between the timer array and the list pops up, indicating one (or several) run-out timers. You can add a sound in the global settings dialog.
You can reset a run-out timer by clicking the red bar or by clicking the reset-button on the timer itself. You can also use the context menu of the list.
